Dempsey Middle School
There are two scheduled band periods at Dempsey. The Orange Band (primarily 7th graders) and the Black Band (primarily 8th graders). Both groups perform their own music for each concert throughout the year (approximately 4) and will perform at adjudicated contests each Spring. Classes meet 5 days a week for 40 minutes each day. Students will have opportunities to work in small groups, individually, use technology and further their skills as a member of these ensembles. One of the highlights each year is "Dempsey Night"; a Friday night football game in which the Dempsey Band students perform at halftime.
